Deaconess Eunjung Kim (2-15 Parish, Nissi Orchestra)



My husband and I met in college when we studied in Yonsei University. After graduation, we performed in an orchestra. I majored in a horn that has gentle and soft sound, and Deacon Jongwoon Park, my husband, majored in the trombone that makes low-pitched solemn sounds.


Nissi Orchestra, a life changer

One day, Deacon Sanghyun Kim, who studied the trumpet in the same university, introduced us to the Nissi Orchestra. It sounded amazing for a church to have an orchestra that is made up of church members and specializes in playing praises.
In February, 2002, I registered in Manmin Central Church and became a member of Nissi Orchestra and Brass Ensemble in the church. Nissi Orchestra currently has 45 members and 27 member candidates. On weekdays, we practice regularly, and we give glory to God with our performances in Friday All-night Service, Sunday Services, Korean Christian churches' events, and overseas crusades of the church.
Not long after we registered, we experienced and met the living God. In July, 2002, Senior Pastor Dr. Jaerock Lee was preaching in Pastors' Seminar that was held in Pyeongchang, Gangwon Province. I witnessed the power of God there.
That day, the sky was full of black clouds and it seemed like it would rain soon. But when we arrived at the seminar venue, a circle-shaped part of the sky over the location was clear unlike the sky around the circle and there were countless stars shining.
More strikingly, I saw stars zigzagging quickly, bobbing up and down, and moving in straight lines. I could see such various kinds of stars' movement and shooting stars. A plane was flying by as though it wanted to prove that the stars were not planes.
In this experience, we came to break the framework of knowledge and possess faith. The biblical incident where the three Magi went to Jesus' birth place by the guidance of a moving star came to my heart more realistically. God showed such amazing signs by conducting the universe in order to plant faith in the seminar attendees.


God increased our faith showing His healing work

In 2006, I was expecting my first child, but I showed the signs of premature labor. But I received Dr. Jaerock Lee's recorded prayer on Automated Response System (822-830-5230, Extension: 41) and delivered the baby on the due date.
Then, I came to have my second child. While I thought I was busy, I became lazy in leading a Christian life and I was losing grace and fullness of the Spirit. I barely managed to keep carrying out the duty as a member of Nissi Orchestra. I could not worship in spirit and truth during services and I did not pray.
My husband and I often quarreled due to divergence in our opinions concerning child-rearing. On such occasions, my second child Yejun went into serious convulsions. My daughter Yerin has come down with cellulitis. Whenever my children got sick I received Dr. Lee's prayer and shook his hand. Then, they were healed completely. However, I seemed to become diligent in leading a Christian life only when some accident happened, but when problems settled I went back to a lukewarm faith.
On November 9, 2012, I was busy doing chores at home and by mistake my feet hit against the edge of my bed. The fourth toe of left foot was fractured. My left foot was swollen, which accompanied severe pain, so I couldn't even walk.
When I went to hospital, the doctor told me that I had to wear a cast and if the cast did not work for mending the fractured bones I would have to get operation. But instead of following what he said, I offered up three-day fasting and repented that I hadn't loved God first of all, prayed, rejoiced, and given thanks. And I put off the cast and prepared to receive healing with faith.
On November 16, 2012, I shook hand with Dr. Lee with faith. Suddenly, strength was given to my toe and I came to walk on my feet. Hallelujah!
Now, my family feels so happy due to the love of the Lord. Children are growing up healthy and nice. I give thanks and glory to God who changed us and became instrumental players who have hope for the best dwelling place in Heaven, New Jerusalem.
