Deaconess Jungsook Lee (Aged 61, Eastern Gwangju Manmin Church)

It happened when I worked for Mujeong Elementary School in Damyang, Joennam province. My coworkers thought that what I said and did seemed somewhat unusual. They advised me to see a doctor. I had been suffering from nervousness for decades due to conflicts in family. I ended up having serious neurosis, so I was not able to communicate with people well and suffer from memory loss.


I was leading a time-limited life due to malignant brain tumor

In April, 2012, I was being forced by my coworkers and daughter to go to a neurosurgeon in Jeonnam University Hospital. The results showed a condition so serious that the doctor wanted to see my guardian. I remained in the hospital ER the night after having the MRI test.

The next day I was taken by an ambulance to Hwasun Jeonnam University Hospital that specializes in cancer patients. I had to undergo various tests. After a few days, I even had the hair on my head shaved in preparation for surgery. I only came to know about my disease later. It was a terminal malignant brain tumor. That's why doctors hurried to get me into surgery. Even after the surgery, doctors told me I might have only five or six months left until death, I didn't remember it and my family concealed it from me.

I also was treated with drugs and radiation treatment. However, I lost my appetite and my strength. It went against all hope and I was getting fatigued over time. I was discharged from the hospital after around 50 days and I had no choice but to take a leave of absence from my work at the school. I spent day after day suffering due to the after-effects of surgery.

I was greatly moved by Tasting Eternal Life before Death

In the late December 2010, a ray of hope shed its light on me. I had a chance to encounter with a woman in the public bath. She said to me, "You look ill." I talked to her about my disease. She told me, "Believe God the Almighty. For God, taking care of cancer and a cold are the same. If you come to my church, you will be healed." It was ear-catching.

She was Senior Deaconess Sundeok Hwang who attends Eastern Gwangju Manmin Church. I set foot in the church for the first time on January 2nd, 2011. I received a good impression of the church. I could feel the heart-warming love between the church members.

On the day, I received Senior Pastor Dr. Jaerock Lee's testimony book Tasting Eternal Life before Death. I was touched by his testimony that he was a person who had been suffering various diseases for seven years and was on the doorstep of death when he met God and received healing. This book allowed for me to have renewed hope for a new life. I thought I could also be healed.


I thoroughly repented of the sermons every week

Dr. Lee's sermons deeply touched my heart over time. It was sweet like honey dripping from the comb. His messages became my goal.

In particular, I had a qualm of conscience whenever he talked about deeds of love for neighbors as God's children. My heart was filled with hatred and resentment. I prayed crying and asking God to help me cast away hatred and resentment.

Two weeks after I started to attend the church, Pastor Yeonok Chung visited me and started to give me a 21-day vowed service together with the church workers. I tried hard to act according to what I realized through her messages delivered in the service. I thoroughly repented that I had hated people and grumbled against them.

Then, strength was given to me and I felt better even after sitting still for a long time. Pastor Chung saw my faith increase and advised me to go to Seoul and receive Dr. Lee's prayer.


After receiving the prayer I regained good health and happiness

In February 2011, I received Dr. Lee's prayer with a fluttering heart and afterwards, I got better and my face became brighter. In the past, I could not clean my house and serve visitors in my home. But now I can clean the sanctuaries! While listening to Dr. Lee's sermons I came to realize that a true Christian life is to resemble the Lord. So, I prayed without ceasing and I tried hard to act according to the Word of God. As resentment and hatred that had filled my heart disappeared, I was eventually able to sleep and eat well.

I was convinced that I had been healed, so I went to the hospital for an MRI test to give glory to God in March of 2012. The test result showed that I had been completely healed and that there was no possibility of reoccurrence of the disease. Hallelujah!

People who have the late stage of malignant brain tumor usually cannot survive for three years even after the surgery. But I am getting healthier day by day. I cannot help but give thanks continuously. Moreover, I got a good score in the Bible Verse Test conducted in my church. I've recently gotten scores of 100 % which was unimaginable before.

These days I deliver Manmin News with a grateful heart for the grace of the Lord. I hope many people will meet the Lord and enjoy happy lives. I give all thanks and glory to God, and I extend my heartfelt thanks to Dr. Jaerock Lee who has prayed for me and led me to live a true Christian life.
