Deacon Heeyong Kwak (aged 41, 3-32 Parish in South Korea)

I met Deaconess Hyojeong Kim in Manmin Central Church and we got married in June 2004. We had nothing to argue about at first, and we prayed together and had a great family in the Lord. I thought that it was natural to have such a family. Thinking like that, I started to get along with my co-workers and became absorbed in playing computer games that I had liked before.
My Christian life was not going well. I attended worship services on Sunday due to my wife's customary routine. After three years had passed since the marriage, something happened to me. My wife and I tried to have a child though it was a little late but we were not successful and she did not become pregnant.
In July, 2009, we received Senior Pastor Dr. Jaerock Lee's prayer for the conception of a baby. Then, my wife got pregnant, but she had a miscarriage after six weeks. A thought flashed through my mind, 'Is it my fault?' Was it because I had not lived by the Word of God? Still, I did not repent but just blamed my wife and said, "Being pregnant you should have been more careful!" My wife was heartbroken because I had said it.
Afterwards, my wife conceived a baby two more times, but she miscarried in the early stage of pregnancy. When I was in church I prayed, "God, I have to live in the Word!" However, despite the pleading, I just returned to the ways of my daily life without change.
At that time, the church members were participating in New Jerusalem Campaign. The campaign was held for them to cut themselves off from the worldly things, fill their hearts with the love of God, recover their faith, and run the race of faith with hope for New Jerusalem.
Senior Pastor Dr. Jaerock Lee was interceding for the church members with tears of grief and sorrow in the mountain prayer house. Nevertheless, I did not break the old habits.
In June, 2011, my Great Grand Parish Pastor Miyoung Lee visited my family and offered up a service with us. She advised me to cast away my changing heart, adulterous mind, attachment to the worldly things and to pray fervently. God deeply moved my desperate heart. Though I offered up worship services and prayed, I didn't have true faith in God. I realized it. And I came to understand that everything goes well as my spirit prospers.
After then, I attended Daniel Prayer Meeting held every night and repented thoroughly of my past wrongdoings. Even when I had to leave my office late, I went to the sanctuary after work and prayed in the Daniel Prayer Meeting. I wanted to watch over my heart, so I went to Pastor Miyoung Lee every Sunday and prayed concerning what she had said to me. I also read Dr. Jaerock Lee's books and tried to understand the will of God to achieve the heart of the Lord. Then, the problem with conception no longer existed. I came to be assured that if one loves God, then his soul prospers and everything goes well. Therefore, I could believe the blessing of conception naturally would follow.
While I was leading the Spirit-filled Christian life, in February 2013 I received Dr. Lee's prayer in the meeting with him during New Year's holiday and we came to have a baby. It was on Easter Sunday, when, my family met with Dr. Lee. My wife was 9-weeks pregnant. We told him that we wanted to have a son since my family and relatives have few sons. He prayed for us to have a son.
The power of his prayer was wonderful! In fact, we went to a hospital that had a high reputation for its skillful faculty who graduated from the best university in Korea. The ultrasonography showed that it was a daughter at the 16th week of the pregnancy. But my wife insisted that we would have a son because we had received Dr. Lee's prayer. Later a thorough ultrasound examination on her told us that it was a son! A daughter changed into a son!
On October 29 in 2013, my wife delivered a healthy boy. I have also received blessings in my car rental business. Two years ago, I opened a small car rental business with six rental cars. But since I have been leading the Spirit-filled Christian life, I came to have a headquarters with more than 50 rental cars and we also have branches. As a result I now have a total of 86 rental cars.
My wife and I came to have true faith while experiencing the love and the power of God. Working as cell leaders, both of us are delivering the love of the Lord. I give thanks and glory to God who gave us a handsome son after 9 years of marriage and has led us in the best way.
