In June, 2013, I conceived the second baby and had a Quad Screening Test in the fifth month. The result showed that the fetus had a high risk for Down syndrome. At that time, one of my friends gave birth to a baby with Down syndrome, which is a genetic disorder caused by the presence of all or part of a third copy of chromosome 21 that is associated with a particular set of facial characteristics and a severe degree of intellectual disability. My mind was fraught with worries.
However, I had experienced the power of Dr. Jaerock Lee when my son Hyunseo was injured in a car accident. He was healed through his prayer. So, I was drawn to the decision to receive his prayer again with faith.
I started to think about the reasons why my baby couldn't be under God's protection and repented with fasting. A short time later, I met Dr. Lee and talked about my situation. He explained about the reasons to me and urged me to live by the Word of God. He then prayed for me.
At last, I repented in a right way that I had not obeyed the Word of God and started to read more than one chapter of the Bible and memorize its important verses every day. While I was trying to practice the Word of God, reading Dr. Lee's recommended book Romance of Three Kingdoms, and looking into the characters' goodness and evilness, I gained great realization.
I also fulfilled my duty as a cell leader, taking care of my cell members with my heart. I prayed in Daniel Prayer Meeting and, sometimes, even Dawn Service. While doing so, the love of the Lord swept over me and the assurance in God's answer was given to me.
On November 9 in 2013, I gave birth easily on the exact due date. My child was a pretty and healthy daughter with no sign of Down syndrome. I felt very grateful to God who answered my prayer and blessed me. What's more thankful is that my ways of thinking have changed. Before, I had thought it was hard to keep the Word of God. But such thoughts disappeared and I now have the desire to always obey His Word. I realized that all messages delivered in church were for my good as written in Deuteronomy 10:13, saying, "…and to keep the LORD's commandments and His statutes which I am commanding you today for your good". I give all thanks and glory to God who blessed me in spirit and body.
