Brother Seokjoong Kwon, age 66, Parish 9, Manmin Central Church


In deep despair and pains caused by many diseases, I was thinking of suicide. Both of my arms felt numb for ten years and my fingertips felt stabbing pain. And I had surgery on my torn cartilage in my knees but it was not completely cured. So, I cannot walk normally.

I even had to urinate every five or ten minutes because of the after-effect of prostate cancer surgery I had undergone seven years ago. Worse than all that, I had insomnia. It was not easy for me to sleep even for an hour a day.

In March 2016, while I was contemplating suicide Cell Leader Kongsun Yoo urged me to come to church and meet God. With the heart of a drowning man who clutches at a straw, I registered in Manmin Central Church. I offered up the services with longing to live and received Senior Pastor Dr. Jaerock Lee's prayer for the sick. Three days later I had a dream that a big circular rainbow appeared in the sky above the church. Afterwards I felt happy for no apparent reason.

I attended the church for several more weeks, and I was amazed by what happened to my body. The numbness in my arms and pain in my fingertips were all gone, and my knees became normal. I came to be able to walk and jump normally. I could pray on my knees without discomfort.

A yellowish lump-like substance came out when I urinated. Since then I came to urinate without any problem; I was healed of the aftereffect of prostate cancer. I used to be tired all the time but now I am not because I no longer suffer from insomnia. I feel so good!

After I recovered health by God's grace, I began to work as a carpenter again. As I was leading a happy Christian life with assurance of the living God, I had an amazing experience again.

I previously had bad eyesight and even eye glasses could not correct my vision. I could not read books because letters were out of focus and blurred. In August 2016, however, through Senior Pastor's prayer for the sick, my eye vision improved. Now I can see everything clearly without glasses, so I am reading the Bible and Senior Pastor's books.

My wife, Sister Songlim Son, was also healed of severe arthritis in her knees on the first day she came to church. Now she always says she is so thankful to know our good church.

I give all thanks and glory to God who healed me who was on the way to death in pains and despair by the prayer of power and renewed me to become a person who hopes for Heaven. Hallelujah!
